I want to format this laptop and put Windows XP on here again. I'm running it now. There's just junk on here. I upgraded from Windows '98 SE. I have the Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade.

So, here's my question. Has anyone done this before? I heard that there are problems as I have to call some number to tell them that I have already registered and they have to clear me for the XP serial number again. True?

I want to do this over the weekend...so, if you have any help, I would appreciate it!

from my past experiences *cough and hide* upgrading is horrible. you should do a clean install and not do it on top. make sure you back up all of your documents and important files (think MP3's too, i forgot them and lost my whole collection!). good luck
