FF: Bookmarks gone.
My computer froze up and I restarted it. I opened up FireFox and all my bookmarks were gone and same with my bookmark toolbar. Where can I find those files?
This is the second time this has happen!
Thanks

I looked at C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile\bookmarks.html but those were just the default bookmarks.

That happend to me before. As far as I know you cannot recover them. Your bookmarks are stored at...
C:\Dacuments and Settings\User\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(random letters).default\bookmarks.html
That's where it is on XP. The Application Data folder is hidden by default.

Sweet, FF made automatic backups of my bookmarks, they were saved in that place. Thanks.

Same thing happened to me a few days ago, sadly I didn't have the autobacks to fall back on
When windows finds broken pipes (files) on scandisk it creates a folder in C drive, usually a number based file like 00 or 0176866 (combination of numbers). The files can be found in there but are not always 100% usable, the content is editable, sometimes you can just rename the folder and put it back, other times like the other day I had to spend 2 days editing the damn thing *Thanks Mr Gates*

You can tell the people who don't do much via the command line around here.

The Command what now?
Just kidding... Although I was surprised to find other in my CS program in college who didn't know how to use the command line.
