favourites maintenance
Doe anyone know of a simple little (preferably free) link validator app for bookmarks/favorites? I've decided that my rat's nest needs cleaning and something to filter out all the dead wood would be helpful.
I seem to recall this being a built in feature of one of the browsers way back when

Perfect timing! I just ran this today and it works like a charm. The program is AM Deadlink and can be found at any popular download site (i.e. Download.com and HotFiles.com). It's ad-free, freeware, and will check your favorites for duplicates, errors, etc.

Thanks Marc,
I've downloaded it and will give it a whirl. I'm actually running another app this sec called "Check&Get" but it is a 30 day demo and I'm not too crazy about the interface. We'll see how long it takes to sift through 1600+ bookmarks!
In the "easily distracted" department, I came across some "font manager" sites while searching. This one looks interesting:

Ah, to be able to load/unload my dingbats, etc with a click of the mouse! I just may try the demo on this one

My favorites have gotten out of hand too. I tried to D/L that AM Deadlink and it was just that....a dead link. LOL Maybe it is overloaded at the moment. I did go to the moonsoftware site that Mark suggested and found the Bookmark Wizard. All it does is make an html page of your book marks, which i did and then I did the unthinkable. I DELETED ALL OF MY FAVORITES (all 181KB of them). Time to start over.
I will just add my html bookmark page to my favories and start a new.
Thanks Mark for the link and Taff for reminding me.
