Where can I report a chain mail or hoaxes that I found from my email and where can I get more information if the message is a hoax or not?

Thank you. Smiling

Unless it's a unknown hoax it's not worth reporting. there are heaps of sites about hoaxs that I really wish people would look at, I myself am sick of them and can't understand how many do actually believe them.
Heres one I had bookmarked http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html you can also fine lost more on a search of google

I tried searching for "chain mails" but my browser freezes up because the first search result contains Chinese character.

I went there and the site even encourages us to use the messages they have and forward them to our friends.

the google link in my post was the search results for "virus hoax" click the link for the results.

Don't forward on any junk, junk is junk and emails warning about junk is junk.
I had a good email replay (but lost it) about all these junk emails, it was rude but to the point. I used to send it to anyone (including my mother lol) that sent me junk, they soon stopped Laughing out loud

I also found hoaxinfo.com which contains several hoax email examples.

When I had my bigfoot.com account, they keeps on sending me 5 solicited messages from companies where they sold my email address so I dump bigfoot . If you don't agree with their terms, your account will be deleted.

Go to Inboxer Rebellion at http://www.snopes.com/

It's more entertaining than educating, but it might be helpful, I guess.

I forgot what site it was but it lets people forward a spam to them and they verify it. If it is considered a spam, then they let people know about it, add it to their spam database or something.

sounds like spamcop.com can be a good thing but anyone can forward anything and innocent people (or hosts/servers) can become blacklisted

take a look at the link in my signature, on the spam 101 page, there are links at the bottom you may find useful.

You can usually report Spam or any other abuse by emailing abuse@ISP's name, except for AOL, which I think is [email protected] .

Unless of course, the the URL (ISP Name) heads the spam.
