backing up my ICQ contact list
Since I'm getting a new computer on Monday (!!!!) I need to back up my ICQ contact list so I can transfer it over to my new machine. I looked on the ICQ site and they only had instructions for v. 1999a, but I have v. 2000b and it's not the same. So, how do I do this?

I recently re-installed windows myself...
I coppied the entire ICQ directory to another drive.
Formatted and re-installed windows.
Install ICQ (to make any registry entries needed)
Copy over top, your old ICQ directory.

Alright, thanks - I'll try that.

Let us know if that works. I always just backup the /Program Files/ICQ/2000b directory because you can restore all the other ones through re-downloading it - that folder contains just the important, irreplaceable data files.

Worked! - I just did the 2000b folder and it's working just fine! Thanks for the advice.
