Oh, having second thoughts about Joomla?
I work pretty much exclusively with Drupal, which is well suited to your plans
Have a look at the modules available
All Drupal modules, themes etc on the drupal web site are free - quite a few Joomla extensions are commercial == $$

I personally recommend Drupal because it is easy to get used to.
I have used it but then learned it...

2. Geekpoint Webmaster Forums

Personally I use Drupal too. It's in use on this site. The thing about Joomla vs. Drupal is that Joomla is much easier to get started with, but advanced customisation is difficult. With Drupal there's a steep initial learning curve, but once you get over that, the sky is the limit on what you can make it do.
