What are the operating systems you've ever used? You can say what you want, but I've only tried Win95, Win98, and like Mac OS 8 or something five years ago, I barely payed attention back then. It was a former school, I think it was a PowerMac... what about you?

Ever used in my entire life: Win3.1/95/98(SE)/2000/NT and Mac OS (sumthin)

Ever run on MY machine: Win 95/98(SE)

I'm holding off for a WinME fix before I try that. Anything Microsoft releases is beta untill they release a patch... IMO.

How about DOS, Windows 3.0/3.1/95/98/ME/NT/2000, Mac OS9, Linux (many flavors), FreeBSD, UNIX.

Mark, stay away from ME. If you want a good Windows OS, go with Windows 2000 Pro. It doesn't crash nearly as much and runs most everything except older games.

Windows XP will be out sometime in the fall. It promises a whole bunch of new features and I am sure new problems. It also is going to make things tough to reinstall the OS.

Oh, I remember I forgot to mention I used a DOS or Windows 3.1 version before GUI... I even played games on it. Smiling

My first experience with the computer was one of those Apple computer with a green text and I used it for word processing typing letters.

Then everyone was talking IBM, thats when I had a first taste with DOS games and software and after that Windows 3.1 and later win95, 98, NT

Now I am learning Linux to prepare myself when the D-day comes where I will be renting a server to house all my clients as my client-base is increasing at a steady rate and will be very economical/favourable having my own server where I can control lots of things and host as much as 200-400 clients which is my goal so I hope to work towards that plan and achieving it in the near future.
